A minor thing, I guess, but you gotta start somewhere. So Coca-Cola is a sponsor of the Beijing Olympics, and well, I live and breathe by Diet Coke. Not anymore. Nope--gotta find an aspartame substitute. Now, strange as it may seem, I'm in such the habit of ordering Diet Coke no matter where I am that I really have to discipline myself to ask for something else in order to stick with my boycott. So at the grocery story, I bought some Diet 7-Up to totally switch things up. And today at lunch, I asked if the restaurant had Diet Pepsi, and--thank heavens--it did!
So far so good. Home Depot is also an Olympics sponsor and that might be a little more difficult to give up now that spring yard work is here. Check back for more updates.

My wife used to be addicted to that shit, but when I got off the piss (alcohol), she agreed to get off the diet coke. It was surprisingly difficult and she found herself getting headaches, which were instantly cured if she had a diet coke (probably the caffeine).
I reckon coke, diet coke and the like are evil, black shit reminiscent of something an evil witch would brew up and feed to little kids to entice them into her filthy sexual games, so I try to avoid it. They bear little resemblance to my idea of food, but I do have a weakness for coffee, which can make me a bit crazy if I drink too much, I just don't seem to be able to not drink it sometimes.
Just do your best with the boycott of sponsors of the Beijing Olympics. It might not be possible to boycott them 100% of the time. If you even boycott them 75 or 90% of the time, it is better than nothing. Keep up the good work!
Go to Lowes, that is if they aren't also sponsors...
Not to mention their stores are better organized!
Tex: Yeah, that caffeine will make you crazy. I try to limit myself to one "regular" cup a day. Same with sodas--usually trying to get caffeine-free.
Skinny Dipper: Thanks for visiting and for the encouragement!
T&A: As far as I know, Lowe's isn't a sponsor. There is a Lowe's nearby--just a bit more of a drive than the Home Depot.
